Crochet Yummy Cream Puff Baby Afghan Blanket

This is such a delicious afghan…reminds me of butter-cream puffs… yummy Works up super quick… great when you need a gift FAST. Uses two strands of yarn and “N” crochet hook. Make a baby afghan or a huge throw for your king size bed.
Crochet Blog crochet-mania.blogspot.com Summer Fun – Crochet Pattern Stitch A The multiple for this project is 4 or 8 depending on how you want your blocks to appear. You can easily adjust your block to 5,6 or 7 if you want longer blocks on the front of your crochet piece. This will make a very nice crochet afghan or baby blanket. It is double thick in places so it will be very warm and use extra yarn. It will work great as a scrap buster, for those extra balls of yarn you have around.

lovely and the wool you are using looks like it’s really soft.
great tutorial thank you
will be trying this out, and best of all this is really easy to follow
Thank you for this video! I made the same blanket, my very first project and it is beautiful. I’m new to crochet and all of your videos have been an incredible help! Thank you again and I really enjoy all of your videos!
@LittleMissJennifer84 i’m sure you could find yarn on amazon or ebay
How much yarn does this style of blanket take?
@smellyelly3 Size “N” crochet hook. You could try using a thicker yarn instead of two strands at the same time. It will not be as puffy, though.
what size hooks did you use and does is have to be done with 2 skeins at a time to get the puff?
@superterri5 Sure why not?
Can you use two different colors for this??
How can I get instructions to this blanket to print out. I really love this blanket. Also what is the best way to connect yarn when you run out of one. I have tried looking at several videos and no one shows how this is done. Thanks twilliamson

@dahliaco28 I used “Pound of Love” I think it’s by Lion Brand Yarns in Antique White. It’s like a buttery creamy white. It’s so soft!!!
what kind of yarn are you using?
@traceyishh Thanks anyway!
@Bufurzone I’m not really sure. Maybe you could Google what a standard baby blanket’s size is.
You’re my savior, only yesterday a lady asked me to make her a baby set and I was wondering where to find an easy pattern,this’s very easy and I’ll finish in couple of hours, thanks a lot…by the way your videos are good
How long should a new born blanket be?
@JustSewMe I think this stitch would be too bulky for a sweater. The moss stitch would be great for a sweater and it has such an interesting texture. I have a spa soap saver tutorial done in this moss stitch if you wanna check it out.
I am going to try this…I bet it goes really FAST! I especially like the ribbon border- but I would like to know if you think it would make a good sweater? I am NOT a knitter- and the standard single or double c stitches are dull…I just wonder if this would “catch” on things; that would not be good in a sweater. Do you have any other stitches you would recommend for a sweater? II have only made baby sweaters and afghans ’til now..
@traceyishh hi i’m also having the same problem but from row 2. it doesnt help your video cuts off before you finish the row. i finding the instrusctions you have given Themystical1972 hard to follow. is it possible for you to show us how to do more than 3 rows to show how it takes shape, maybe 6 or so rows. i did a sample to get the hang of the pattern. i chained 12 plus 2, i worked that row and had 4 puffs, then worked back for row 2 and had 3 puffs and have had 3 puffs per row after that xx
@LittleMissJennifer84 make your beginning chain the length you want your blanket to be in multiples of three then add an additional 2 chains.
btw the yarn I used in the tutorial is acrylic so that it is washable. Wool has a tendency to shrink and “felt” when washed.
@LittleMissJennifer84
I forgot to ask how would you increase and decrease with this stitch? ive never been able to figure things like that out lol thanks!
Love this look for a baby blanket! i wish wool like that was easier to come by here in the UK
and its not cheap when i do find some lol is it acrylic and wool?
where can we get a written pattern for this project?
@jcrefasi1 The blanket is approx. 36″ wide by 48″ long. I’m not to particular about my measurements I just keep chaining until I think it “looks” right. Thanks so much for watching.
Sorry I didn’t read all comments until after I posted my question. But still would like to know your finished size pre border, that 36 rows on a chain 84 gave you. Thanks so much and you have really inspired me to try new stitches. I was in a rut until I found you!!!!!
love your patterns , and easy to understand instructions , but where are the
written instructions for the summer fun – pattern stitch A ?
Thanks and please keep up the excellent work !
@udon890 You are welcome! I appreciate the comment.
Thanks for the slow motion. I always like to learn how to use more than 1 colour of yarn.
@silentwriter30 It is a pencil grip. I purchased mine from Wal-mart.
What is the piece you have over the crochet hook and where may I buy it?

*revised missed a bit out
It’s a good idea to check out TJW’s blog, there are lots of handy hints and tips – i too love ther pencil grip idea. I’ve taken up crochet after a long break and found the hooks too narrow to grip. Its much more comfortable with the grips.

@hoosiermama1009 … FYI she has a video Titled: How to Make your own Crochet Hook Grip … look it up she goes in detail… :0)
@LuvCrochet1 Correct, I am not counting the first chain as a stitch with the double crochet. I am only using it as the step up so I can work a full double crochet.
Teresa: It looks as though the turning ch.1 does NOT count as the first stitch of the
row. Is this correct?
thnx Teresa!

What are the cushions you use on your hooks and where can I get some?
I love it, I dunno how to do it, though, it seems really hard to make each ring even…
